Today’s workout

the-direction-of:

20 min back country run

Bench press: 4 sets: 30lbs x 15 reps, 30lbs x 20 reps, 35lbs x 15 reps, 35lbs x 10 reps (fast)

Rows: 2 sets of 15 with a blue band

Lat Pulls: 2 sets of 10 w/5lbs

Shoulder presses: 4 x 40lbs

Deadlifts: 3 sets of 10: 20lbs, 40lbs, 50lbs

Squats: 3x10x40lbs

Curls: 2 sets of 10 w/blue band, 3 sets of 10 w/20lbs

Rotator cuff band work

It’s bout day.

Lessons on Self Improvement – Labyrinth and Personal Responsibility Part 1 | Ripples of Improvement

Be responsible for yourself. Take accountibility. It’s not fair. Suck it up.

It was my first time bouting yesterday. It was amazing!

I’m really glad BBRD gave me the chance to skate with them against this team as we wanted to get a feel for how they played.

We started out well but our blockers got easily distracted, myself included when I was pivot, and had a hard time switching from offense to defense.

I took a lot of hits, including a sandwich to the head (btw where the hell was the call for high blocking on that?!), one hit I got spun around and skated backwards before skating off and calling off the jam…it was rugged but I’m proud of the fact that I GOT UP AS FAST AS I COULD EVERY DAMN TIME. I’m also really proud that I only had two majors.

It was a really great bout although we got our asses slaughtered but it was well worth it.

The after party was at On Tap in Essex Jct where they had a nice buffet upstairs for the players, NSO’s and derby Moms and Grandmas.

Some other teams were in attendance getting the scoop on the teams playing, Plattsburgh Roller Derby was there, a couple of players from Albany were there I heard…

My leg is sore from either taking a hit to it or from pulling it in a fall, my left hindquarter hurts from falling on it but nothing that rest, stretching, Advil, and heatwraps can’t cure.

Off to find some video of the bout to study study study!
